You can hire someone, BUT pre-measure the food, and put it in individual containers for each days feeding (only feed once per day, or have them feed them once a week).

That sounds like someothing i would do, except have them come once every 3 days or so just to be safe

I have a friend of mine take care of feeding the fish. I make sure all the food containers are full (shaker, frozen, etc) and identify the available live feeder bins. I write the diet and frequency of each tank ON each tank with a washable crayon. That way, there's no list to lose or misidentification of species/tank to be fed.

How long does it take to feed all of your tanks? How about the one taking care of them, how much longer for this person?

Not that long. All the tanks can be fed in about 45 minutes to an hour. I don't know how long it takes my friend but, I've yet to hear any complaint. He even does gravel washes and filter cleanings when he sees the need for them.

Wow. I thought with as many tanks as you have it would take longer. Also do you sell these fish or just keep them as a hobby, have always wondered. Don't you have ALOT of tanks. I guess I should stop derailing though.

like others have said, your fish should be fine for 14 days if you give them a good feeding and a water change right before you leave. I once left my tanks for 10 days, even with juvi cichlids, and they all were fine.

oh and if you are really concerned still try making a jig for your automatic feeder, perhaps something that will attach to the tanks's hood, perhaps some suction cups or Velcro

I made a mistake one time about six or seven years ago I had a Black aro in a tank and I put in like twenty feeders for him while I was gone a week or two later came back aro was a goner. Seems that the aro just went on a killing spree left like 15 feeders floating around and made the water bad or somethin.

Have another fish keeper come feed them once or twice. If they don't know how then measure out the food, like said above. I think that's a great idea.

My problem is compounded tho. One of my fish is a ~2month old ClownKnife and it, and many of the other fish, usually eat frozen bloodworms and krill. Also, the people I would maybe trust to do it are going with me on vacation or will be gone too. Leaning towards letting them fast.

Why can't you make an ice cube tray and make a mix up of different things. Then have someone come over and drop a cube in once a day? As it melts the mix should feed everyone. They make ice trays in different sizes. You could test it out before you leave to see if it really works.

Regular premeasured daily feedings have been complicated enough for my cousin and friend that have done it. They dont keep fish and even tho they r not dumb, they cant seem to control the urge to keep feeding. Only time I have ever had fungus in my tank. Getting stuff out of freezer will just add a layer of complication. Moot point anyway- everyone I know is out of town or has something else going on.
