hmmm lets see here, i had a 4" gt with a 3" jd, 2" blood parrot, and a sveni pike pair male 6" female 4" all growing out in a 55. so long as you start them together as a community you should do fine. the jd will have alot slower growth than the gt, and also wont get as large so try to give it a head start of about an inch or so. if you wanted to go down a diff path i have a breeding pair of red devils that sure could use a good home. 125+ gallons atleast. (male is very tolerant of the female) where in iowa are you at?

oh hey! we're in southwest iowa. won't be getting that big of a tank for a little while though. i like the idea of the blood parrot... i will have to do some reading!
if i get the chance to net mine i will net him out and put it in a tank so that you could have it if you want it. otherwise it is just going to wind up getting eaten by one of my cats. i go to creston almost every other weekend. (ive had this blood parrot for 5 months and have only seen about 1/2" of growth out of it.)
well crap just did some reading and i don't know if it would work too well to have that fish with what we're planning... i will have to talk to man of the house and see what he says! we are going to creston to drop off little one at her grandparents' next weekend.. but then going to des moines right afterwards. don't suppose a fish would survive an 8 hour day out shopping? lol
8 hours is kind of rough, but if it was in a big rubbermaid tote it would do alright so long as its warm out. which way from creston are you?
