Alright, its gotten to the point where the corner of the basement looks like a small fish store that went out of business.

tanks: 80g hex, 29g tall and a 10g all sitting empty. Just threw out a 60g tall w/ mirrored background and regret it.
filters: Emperor 400, Marineland Penguin 350, Whiper 60, Whisper 10 all collecting dust
air pumps: Rena 400, Whisper 100, Whisper 40, 4x battery operated pumps not in use
heater: 1000w Won Brothers Pro 2 w/ dig controller, 200w Tronic, 50w Tronic not in use

I'm not looking to set up and maintain anything smaller than 125g so what can I do with this extra stuff just laying around? I don't really want to sell any of it either. The 29g comes in handy as a treatment tank every now and again. Could I turn the 80g hex into a wet/dry? Any creative ideas out there?

^...whoa, what the hell?
I think I read somewhere that bong water is not healthy for fish

Make it look like a new and operating business :) FILL them up with water and breeding fish :)

Old tanks make great DIY filters, at the very least they can be plumbed into a bigger tank and used as feeder/grow out tanks. That way you don't add any extra water changes.

I have always wanted a wet/dry. Do you guys think it would be practical to turn a 80g hex into a DIY wet/dry. I'm not sure on the exact science of a wet/dry but could this work...

divide the tank into 2 by use of plexi-glass divider. make one side 3/4 larger than the other side. on that larger side would be where the water enters. on top would be the filter pads, underneath those I could load up with bioballs and then at the bottom of the tank I could have my water pump return.

here is a pic of the 80g hex I'd like to try this with

I'm not being retarded here so please forgive the quick work I did with microsoft paint. This is what I am envisioning. Please criticize.
