Hi I am not sure if there are threads on this already but I am wondering what I can do when I go on vacation about my fish. I have a small clown knife and 2 catfish. What do you guys do when you go on vacation about feeding your fish. I am the only fish guy in my family and my fish need to be hand fed( they are spoiled;)

Well it really depends how long you'll be gone for. But a good way to get them set is to do a real good wc and give them a decent amount of food before you leave. They won't starve very fast, if you're worried you can stock the tank with feeders they can catch while you're gone.

fish can go for weeks without food in the wild. i actually went on vacation a couple of weeks ago and only lost one fish to prolly getin eaten by my pbb. just did a huge water change before i left and starved them a few days before so they have nothing to foul the water with while im away.

This summer, I will be gone for a month. I have done this before and the fish survived fine with an auto feeder(that tank was an overpopulated mbuna tank).

With my current tank, I did a few things: purchased additional auto feeders so I can drop difference types of food in; bought lots of portos to help with nitrate; starting to do larger WC to reduce nitrate and pray there are nothing catastrophic happens while I am away.
