no way for many reasons

1) tank is costing 800 (with stand and canopy)
2) filtration costs 500
3) decor and everything else is costing 200
4) I live in the usa

too much $$$ on everything.

Haha, that is expspensive! I just sold my dirtbike, and was trying to get 1500 but ended up with 1200, but I am building a tank that is 8ft long, 3ft wide, and 2 ft tall. Thats about 359 gallons or so... I can build the tank for less that it would cost to ship a prebuild tank from glasscages.com...

Then I'm going to build a 100 gallon Wet/Dry sump out of a rubbermaid container.

The inhabitants will be 4 black arowanas and one silver arowana. The 1200 is buying everything, including fish. You need to shop around for better deals bro!

agree on that! wayyyyy to expensive. if you look on buying second hand you can probably get the tank and filter for around 500 which leaves you a grand to buy some decent fish.

i only want 1 fish, so he can stay in that his whole life. anyway, im a 13 year old kid, im not patient

you gotta do what you think is best bro. if you have a bit more patience, you can deffo find a good deal on a nice tank and safe yourself a lot of money.

id put all that money into the biggest tank you could possibly get and worry about everythign else later... in the long run, you'll be glad you got a 300gal or something crazy like that.

lol check out my plan

all these added together= :)
what ever i would do what you'r doing take the 180 and the same filter's you'r buying and throw it all together but get a jardini instead of that silver first off the jar doesn't get as big it's kind of mean and crewl in my opinion to keep a full grown silver in a 180 that's what you said you were gonna do for life that's a 4 foot fish in a 6 foot tank not a good idea by a jardini way cooler any ways and it will be happy in there for life well atleast more then a silver. And congrats on you'r parents letting you have that tank no way my parents would of said yes when i was 13 and welcom to the fish hobby young man any ways said my piece good luck.
