what about some rare hemichromis; elongatus or frempongii group, get 6 plus though. even just the blood red jewels are very cool and sale-able. obviously these are african but live in the rivers and are the same parameters as sa/ca. a nice pair of pike cichlids is an option, theres lots of pretty species, thats something id like to try one day!-)
