I would suggest selling on e-bay, put them for sale in a newspaper add in like a Penny Saver or Nickel Add paper or here on MFK. We here in the White Mountains of Arizona also have a radio station which has a 1 hr. broad-casted Buy, Sell or Trade type program from 12 noon to 1 pm.. It's like a radio swap meet. Quite cool actually. Maybe if your town has something like that for your area, that might be worth a try too. I hope this helps and I wish you much success.

edit: I must say, 3,500 fry, are many fish to have to contend with. Have you thought contacting university's in their ichthyology or biology departments to see if they would want to purchase some?

My other fish were raised on gold fish so thats all they will eat. Ive tried feeding them to the fish but they just end up getting big.

Yeah I dont know why your LFS wouldnt let you get food or filters? Thats one way to make the hobby alot cheaper! haha.

And I would agree with the advice to post it on MFK or Aquabid.

Also to be sure to put it on craigslist as a "rehoming fee"
