I recently bought a full set up of malawi cichlids to aquire a few fish for my main hap and peacock tank and have decided to keep the 6ft tank they came in. I don't really want 2 malawi tanks so was either thinking of American cichlids or some oddballs as it in a room I use just to chill, music, play darts, punchbag etc...

I kept Oscars as a kid so wouldn't mind that or a community but also would like to hear examples of big single or oddball feature fish that suit a 6 x 2 x2. I like the idea of eel type fish or birchers, snake heads but know nothing about them?

What would you do?

There's a lot you can do with a 180. I've been doing a it of reading on South American fish like uaru, satanoperca and true parrots.

Giant goldfish!!! :D The fat ones, not comets. I know most people would think that a waste of a tank, but personally I'd love a tank like that for goldfish. :)

Pair of parachromis other than dovii would be pretty sick

J jaws7777 birchers sound like your thing. If you're going for a wet pet, can't go wrong with a big Amphilophus. That's size I'd want something like a hogaboomarum, maybe a trimac. For community, my severums and geos provide good intertainment and are pretty laid back, also a lot of color.

Maybe a Flowerhorn, it would be cool to search for an individual fish that you like and hand pick it. Since it's a one off you can really invest yourself into finding the perfect looking FH for you.
