I'm ready to try something different. So, I have this 75 gallon tank, and can’t decide what to do. I think I want something that will do well as a pair in a 75. Something with nice color, especially when in breeding mode. I don’t want anything TOO common, like JD’s and such. I have a LOT of vieja, so I think I want something outside of that, and they get awfully large for a pair in a 75 anyway. So here I am, with I guess the latest “what do you suggest” thread, as I try to find something that gets me excited. There are a couple of contenders right now: yellow head la ceiba freddies, and kinda thinking about maybe deppi… something you don’t see a lot of too much anymore seems like.

Anyway… sorry for yet another suggestion thread, but I need help. Suggestions?

Get yourself some ExCichlasom istlanum as they get very colorful in breeding mood and are very exciting fish to watch.... or try Salvini as they get beautiful aswell.... or get a mix or Thorichthys like Meeki and Ellioti and grow them on to see how large they can get in a larger tank.

What up Rich. You should give me your 75! Problem solved.

Deppi would be a good choice. If you wanted something that stayed under well under 6"; c. panamensis, c. mynare, c. sajica(yellow/gold). I'm about to order some T.Lentiginosus they could do well in a 75 and something you dont see very often.

I've a got a pair of Thorichthys Passiones that i'd let go if you're interested.

What up rich haven't seen u on here in a while. Why not go with a amph. Hoga, or red isletas pair. Grammodes, islathum, or a panama loiselli pair would all be good choices and fish that need more keepers

I saw on Rapps' & Cichlid Connection's stock list chuco micropthalmus and they look great. I know next to nothing about them though. I think a pair would work in a 75, but I'm not sure.
