What to do with my 75 gallon tank...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks, Al! I have been eyeing deppi for a long time. Haven't pulled the trigger on them. Seems like a very underrated fish. Decisions, decisions...

If you can find them maybe try some stalsbergi. Very uncommon, colorful, and yet with their connection to gold saums, people who don't know a lot about less common cichlids get intrigued by them and want fry. And the fact that they like cooler temps is a plus too.

Interesting suggestion, Trace... thanks!

I have a vendor preparing a list of pairs he has available, and I hope to be making a decision soon...

Will pass on the jewels, but yeah... that's what I'm shooting for. Something I haven't kept before. Pending Dan's list, I think at the moment deppi or gibbiceps are strong options. But not etched in stone yet.

Dan somewhat intrigued me with a pair of trimacs, but of course, I think they'd outgrow the 75 and I do worry about them getting along long term. Too on the fence to go through with it. He has some other pairs, but not anything I'm looking for right this second, so I'll wait it out a bit. In the meantime, I do have some festae growouts coming along... if I can get a pair out of that group, it'd be pretty sweet. We'll see.

And festae win out. I'm getting a non-bonded pair from Dan. Hopefully, a divider and a little foreplay later... so I now have my next project!
