What to do with spare hexagon tank

Hi all, I am a long time lurker, and decided to ask a question. I have a spare 40 gallon or so vertical hexagon tank. What would you guys recommend I use this tank for? I'm not the community fish type of guy, I like the aggressive fish a lot better. I already have a tank with an Oscar in it and love him a lot. He has a great personality. So what type of fish should I put in this tank? I was thinking about some kind of freshwater puffer, but they all grow pretty big except for the dwarf Indian puffer. Thoughts? Thanks! :)

I dont know your tank dimensions, but someone on here had a 40gal shrimp/critter tank. You ever consider that? His pics were really neat and the bonus is you could have a consistant supply of live food. If I can find it ill link the post to you. Beautiful little tank with lots of live plants and shrimps, it looked really interesting. I think he was breeding tiger shrimp.

thanks for the quick response. My tank is 2 feet high and 1ft long. I have thought about shrimp but not extensively. What other critters would u suggest?

Angels usually work in a tall tank...
 
Oh man theres endless kinds of critters you can put in that tank, just pick something that intrests you. If your into the puffers, look at something called "pea puffers" at least thats what we call them in ontario. Ithink they stay under 3".
 
I may get the puffers. They seem like pretty cool and interesting fish. But what are some fish that burrow, like gobys or something else. I saw a video of a jawfish on YouTube, and now I'm interested in some freshwater fish that burrow. Lol.

I was just thinking if your into reptiles I know you can keep some small lizards in there. Just need some sand, plants (preferably fake), and a branch angled from bottom corner to top corner and a heat lamp. Start up cost is prolly around the same as a new tank setup (unless you already have what you need).
