What to do with spare hexagon tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Your tank really isn't fit for any predatory bottom dwellers, with the exception of bumblebee gobies.

Edit: And I didn't really think about it before, but if your tank is 2' tall by 1' in diameter, it is nowhere near 40 gallons... those dimensions would probably put you somwhere around 15 gallons... but anyway, if you are going with the puffers, be sure to read up on them first; they are a bit more needy than most fish. I would recommend taking a look at http://www.dwarfpuffers.com/ This is the website I used when I was considering getting into dwarf puffers (I ended up deciding I would prefer to have a community instead).

Edit #2: Actually I just did the math on it, and according to those dimensions, your tank is a 10 gallon (9.7 gallons, to be exact).

I was just thinking if your into reptiles I know you can keep some small lizards in there. Just need some sand, plants (preferably fake), and a branch angled from bottom corner to top corner and a heat lamp. Start up cost is prolly around the same as a new tank setup (unless you already have what you need).

I thought reptiles needed a warm end and a cool end to their terrarium...

Wow. Thanks. I actually was thinking about reptiles. But if I were to get one, it would prob be more of a bigger reptile that could live in a vertical tank like mine. Know of any? I also have an old 25-30 gallon horizontal tank, I could possibly use for reptiles too.

Vertical reptiles? Chameleon would be your best bet, but usualy a high price tag.
