I'm in the middle of the process of rearranging the furniture in the house and I'm going to be able to make one room an aquarium only room.

The tank in this picture is situated right by the door to my living room and is going to be moved so it's not in a high traffic area. When I move it I'm going to return these fish to the LFS for some credit.
Now I want something to replace my Africans with, preferably some SA/CA cichlids. The tank measures 31.5x19.68x19.68 inches. Now I wanted to put a pair of Blue Acaras in it but I thought I'd run it by someone with actual experience first.

Any other suggestions for a pair of some middle-sized cichlids would be appreciated.

If I were top do a 50 again id do a salvini female, a pair of ellioti(i think the name was changed, not sure) and a pair of multispinosa. With a sand bottom, and a whole lot of driftwood and rock structures. And Ive heard they are more tolerant of plants than other CA species so id also try a few plants.

just a pair of blue acaras could work too

Are you taking the width if 31.5 inches into account? Seem like alot of big fishes for the widht imo and I'm the one that wants a big pair :D

The only Angelfish I like are the Altums would they work? I'm kind of looking at Aquidens species. Diadema Metea.

Come on guys more ideas....

I have one of those challenging sized tanks myself, a Marineland 56 gallon / 30" W x 18" D x 24" H
Right now Im using it as a growout but I would like some ideas too!

id say diadem get too big from my experience of them but blue acaras would be fine or smaller red breasted acaras a group of them would be awesome.
