Right now I've got an empty terrarium, a 20 gallon to be specific, but I think its more than that. The dimensions are 3' x 1' x 1'. Anyway, I want to get some reptile or amphibian. Any ideas of what I could put in there? By the way, NO TORTOISES! I've had one in the past and they are very very boring. And old tofu smells like crap.

How about a few geckos? Active and not boring IMO

Crested gecko or a couple.

what type in particular? my last leopard gecko starved itself after doing great for a year. What about dart frogs perhaps?

EDIT: Looked at crested geckos. I like those. If dart frogs are a no no then I'd probably go for those. Or maybe dwarf chameleons.

How come turtles and tortoises are boring? I know some people get tortoises and lizards since they find snakes too inactive. If you answer, we might make a few recommendations that you will like.

Either way, people usually have fun with Crested Geckos. Even though chameleons are interesting, some people find them boring after awhile. Not sure why...

never said turtles, just tortoises. except galapagos giant tortoises, i could watch those for hours. Not sure why people would find chameleons boring though...

Tortoises are pretty interesting to watch, especially if you have a male and a female. It'll be like your own personal live sex show whenever you want (and don't want).

I don't think I want to imagine tortoise sex...

I have been in Mauritus for the breeding season of the Giant Tortoises.... yeah they get pretty rowdy.

Tortoises are best kept in herds or colonies anyway... more fun. Some day, once I get a bigger place, I might dedicate a room to a herd of tortoises. Anyway that is beside the point, diurnal reptiles might be for you. Chameleons, although awesome, can be hard to care for properly, especially in an aquarium.
