i have a few options. what to do for my fish
heres why i have to make this decision: jack and oscar fight, jack wins. always.

#1 - keep the jd, grow it out in a divided 10 for a while until i build a tank and put him in there. but then he'd have to get along with a aro. info on that?

#2 - get rid of the jd completely

#3 - grow the jd in the 10 until the oscar gets bigger than him, then put him in with the oscar.

#4 - replace jd with senegal bichir

#5 = #1 + replace with senegal

i dunno what to do. i liked the jd but since he always attacks my oscar he kind of pisses me off. and without the jd the oscar now swims throughout the whole tank. another plus to just getting rid of the jd is the oscar is less aggressive to the other fish.

but i like his colors. :nilly:what to do.

My JD was the jerk of the tank for a while. I have 2 oscars with him. They are ok now....the pike put the JD in his place.
How big are your fish now?

3" right now. so you think i should just wait till my oscar outgrows him some? thats what i was told to do in the past but my oscar and jd got along so well for 2 weeks then BAM. locked jaws when i walk downstairs. seems the jd new how to do it and the oscar didn't really get it

why not get something like a 30 long, and keep the dempsey in there for a while
$$$
i think im just going to get rid of the dempsey.. if they give me 1 or 2 dollars store credit thats a bonus. i might get the senegal, i've always wanted a bichir. i had one as my first fish, before i knew anything. died from ammonia burns. :(
i really want another one.

A jd should be fine with an arowana, just as an oscar would be. Either can go with non-cichlid fish, some can go with other cichlids, some cannot. A larger tank may help, with a lot of visual barriers, maybe some dither fish (giant danios?).

well my dad asked me if i wanted to build a fishtank. i'm hoping 120g+ :)
how big do silver arowana's get? is a 120 big enough for life for one?

did you get the silver arrow from fish unlimited in greenbay? btw id get rid of the jd

oh no, i dont have the aro but i really want one for when i build the tank..
fish unlimited is a lot cheaper than other fish stores around, i've bought 2 fish from them and they're very healthy.
why do you ask? i think im going to bring the jd in tomorrow and probably get another plant to help make the tank a little darker

An arowana should eventually have much bigger than a 120
