gut loaded insects is a good choice. i read before that insects aren't as susceptible to disease like feeder fish. you might even want to try ghost shrimp depending on what kind of cichlid you're talking about.
as for me though i feed nls pellets, cichlid gold, hikari food sticks, sinking carnivore pellets, nls optimum flakes, freeze dried brine shrimp and krill, frozen krill and blood worm cubes and beef heart. when i buy earthworms i cut up apple pieces to put in the little blue container and i feed my lobster roaches nls optimum flakes (which they go ape s**t for,) cichlid gold and bearded dragon pellets.
