Hey guys, this is my first thread and i am new to keeping GT's this will be my first one kept. "she" (i think it is a girl dues to the rounded fins) is about 1.25" and gets dark and colorful sometimes yet others she gets bland. i cant get a pic right now but il try later on. I just wanna know what to feed her to get the best lookin fish possible

Thanks! :D

Hikari Cichlid Bio-gold as a staple then substitute in Krill, and cyclopeeze

Feed it a variety of pellet and frozen foods. Variety is key. I would feed it New Life Spectrum as a staple pellet.

Hikari gold all the way man the results this stuff gives your fish is amazing. I thought my dempsey was at peak color but hikari gol is making him grow new spangles woo. not only that but he likes the way it tastes because he jumps more enthusiastically.

thanks for the responses! right now i have her on some bloodworms and also some Hikari gold "mini" pellets. would the bloods be good? and also i bought some frozen food called "chichlid delight"

yeah like stated a good pellet for the staple diet and then treats added in to this, also i would like to point out that GTs are prone to bacterial infections, and mine started to get it but i added peas to his diet a couple times a week and so far its helping. these guys really need a good veggie base in their diet as well

bloodworms and the frozen food you got are good as treats but the pellet should be the staple

thanks sarah! so would i chop up the peas because she is so small? see pic above

no just de-shell them and squish them a little so soften up a bit and then put them in, mine isnt much larger at about 2-2.5in and this is what i do for him and he goes crazy for them (but since he was showing signs of infection i was also soaking his peas in some tank water with chopped up garlic but if yours isn't showing any signs of infection then just the thawed de-shelled peas should be fine like a couple times a week)

oh and i agree it is most likely a female but let it grow a little more to be sure
