no just de-shell them and squish them a little so soften up a bit and then put them in, mine isnt much larger at about 2-2.5in and this is what i do for him and he goes crazy for them (but since he was showing signs of infection i was also soaking his peas in some tank water with chopped up garlic but if yours isn't showing any signs of infection then just the thawed de-shelled peas should be fine like a couple times a week)

oh and i agree it is most likely a female but let it grow a little more to be sure

thanks :) ill try that for sure!

I posted in another thread that I feed about 75% vegitable and 25% animal protean. I use skinned peas once a week with a daily feedings of Omega One Super Veggie pellets and Hakari Bio-Gold+. I feed an earthworm & some krill once a week but feed vegitable matter every day. It has been my observation that with these guys any meaty foods that don't pass through the digestive system quickly, can start to grow bacteria so keeping things moving is important. I would avoid blood worms and in it's place substatute sprulina brine shrimp. Your GT isn't big enough yet for earthworms (unless you chop them) or frozen krill so use the sprulina brine shrimp, skinned crushed peas and a quality pellet like NLS, Omega One Veggie pellets or flakes or Hakari Bio-Gold+. Get your GT used to accepting a verity of foods and it will be very healthy with excelent color and form. GL

Thanks a bunch! :grinno:

Hikari Bio-Gold+ is def the way to go as a staple. Just look at my avatar, Hes been that bright since as long as I got him at about 2-3 inches. He is now 7+ inches. Does look like a female to me though. Its still very small to sex but due to the lack of coloration in the caudal and dorsal fins, ill say female.
