What to feed the big guys

I would feed my bigger fish whatever pellets i could, crickets, feeders, meal worms and bits of hot dogs

Your having a laugh hot dogs. In the uk hot dogs taste like dog I think.

Silver sides, smelt, shrimp with the shell (the shell is acutally the stuff that will enhance their color), beef heart. I like pellets the most because it's nutrionally complete and easy to feed. But nothing is better than variety in a diet and this makes your fish healthier also.

I've always fed my bigger cichlids chicken liver... in addition to a lot of other flake, pellet, live, frozen and fresh food. The only thing with chicken liver is be sure to rinse it thoroughly. It can also cloud the water badly making frequent water changes necessary. ALso have you ever tried hard boiled eggs? My fish always love that.

buy some small ones, feed them pellets, treat the water with vitamix. and regular water changes. youll be shocked how fast they grow,plus they will eat what they need, not bad habbits someone else gave them. ive had 18' snakehead that ate pellets. have a 12' gar that eats pellets now. its up to u not them.
