what to have for a shoal?

i am getting a 50USG tank and want to put a rainbow snakehead, delhzi bichir and either a texas or a salvini cichlid. (these fish will not be kept until adults) i wanted a shoal of fish to accompany these. i was thinking of congo tetras or bosmani rainbow fish. will they be preditated on? which one would be best? any other suggestions?

all I can say is that my Bichirs eat gold fish, guppy's, and rosies ...

If I am not mistaken - tetra's are smaller that gold fish - no?

congo tetras grow to about 10cm.

if you can actually get them at 10cm,great.
but my bichirs are able to eat fish like half as long as themselves.
the channa will also prey on the tetras if they are too small.
the cichlids will just keep stressing them til they die.

O.K if i got them at medium size and the bichirs at a small size would that work?

if you put tetras in with them - they might survive for a little while.

I wouldn't do it ... expensive snack if it doesn't work

thanks, might give the congos and rainbows a miss, any other reccomendations?

if i am correct silver dollers grow huge. i was looking for something that would stay in a 50G for life, sorry should have made that clear.

Giant danios or Dangila danios might work. Dangilas get like 6" and they're really fast! If it doesn't work out, at least giant danios are cheap. LOL

Im not too familiar with snakeheads but from what i hear i wouldnt put anything unless much larger in that tank with them. Plus remember is only a 50gal so its pretty full with the fish you listed.
