What to keep in an 8ft tank

Go with the South American biotope...Geos, Angelfish, Tetras, ect....Personally, I'd put a shoal of PYGOS in there...

The obvious choice would be a silver arowana, but that's been done....by me. So I would go with large cichlids. Frontosa would be sweet.
Is there a difference between a gallon in the US and UK?!?

UK gallon (Imperial gallon) is slightly larger. E.g. 100 gallon US is only around 83 gallons UK.

Our natives are a little different here in the UK..!

Ever thought of Distichodus Sexfaciatus? Not sure how one would get on with the pike or the gouramy, but it would love that 8ft tank. A big shoal of Congo tetras would be pretty cool as well.

needle nose gar would look cool if your going with plants. or a mbuna cichlid tank would look good with some sand and lots of rock..or a big discus tank would look cool. its all about personal preferance really.

I would do the classic rays and arowana with maybe a few cichlids so you get top swimmers bottom dwellers and middle level. Just my opinion though
