what to keep with bleheri

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'll add that if you want more than 2 fishes in a tank, with channas, you can either get a pack of pleuros, or buy 5 bleheris, and hope a pair never forms. That's the only way they'll live together. If you come across a very big tank, maruloides also seems to be making a decent tankmate, provided no other of his tankmates tries to even remotely mess with it.
pleuros need a 2 meter tank so I won't try that. I would like a pack of bleheri that would look cool. But if u buy 5 bleheris u will definetly get a couple. Is it possible to do this?
-2 bleheri
1 gaucha
-2 andrao

Like this you probably never get a couple.

I have a striata albino and he is god damn agressive! He attacked my x2 oscar and i rehomed it. Tomorrow i ll buy a tank240L (still a baby , 10cm) for him 120length till summer and then i ll rehome it again at a 2,5m! Soon i ll try the gachua with my oscar. I heard that gachuas can be in community tank same as bleheris. When i ll get my second 8ft aquarium i ll rehome my oscar , a jag and a pair of maruloides super orange inside the tank. I love aurantimaculatas but here they cost 200€ and it could be extremly expensive to pair them..

I don't know about not dwarf kind but u now that they need periods? And periods aint good with oscars so the combination is not ideal.

I would not try it, mixing channa species rarely works.
What happened to that little fella's upper lip? :(

I got no idea, I think he was born with it. He has no problems eating and everything so its alright.

now some bad news.... I was cleaning the tank and normally the bleheri always comes to look and to get pet but I didn't see him. So after cleaning I moved all the rocks and wood but I still couldn't find him. Well I just found him dead behind the aquarium...
Must have jumped out a few days ago when I was gone. I think the problem was that I moved the pump output to the other side so there was an opening in the aquarium.
This is the second one that died, I feel like ****. he was such a fun guy never found a snakehead that wanted to be pet before

I think that it's happened to everyone on this forum. :p So don't feel too bad. You have to plug up any small holes, it's amazing what size hole they can escape through! At least you now have an empty tank to start over with again.

If I want to keep a community, do I need to add them all at once or can I just add 2 and then a month later another one? And is 6 bleheri not overstocking?

Not at all. Bleheris even a pair need a small tank , so 6 bleheris could be ideal number for your tank. Just keep in mind to add some hiding spots like caves. The pair (female) ll spawn in them and they ll defend it
