My LFS just got in a batch of 3 to 4 inch Green Terror. One of them is going to go in my new tank. The all have really awesome color already. Is there something I should look for to get a great looking male speciman for my tank? Thanks for the help!

Hmmm, well you could look at their body shape and maybe hump, if any(if you like nuchal humps). See if there's a dominant male in the tank, if they're all together. I guess you could look at the markings on their face as well and how thick the orange band is. I haven't gone through many GTs but that's what I'd look for. In the end, it's how you take care of your fish(diet, water quality etc.) and their genetics that gets you the end result.

Looking forward to what you end up bringing home.

I have a small 2.5 inch gt, and before i got this guy i never paid them much attention, but this one is pretty neat , however he isnt nearly as aggressive as the others in his grow out tank so choose one that has some stones, if its going in with bigger fish buy one you think willl stand the best chance to hold its own,
my gt lives with a couple smaller fader fh's, a jag, a small barred midas of some variety and a red devil,

unless there's one that is obviously better than the rest, go for the largest/most dominant one. Keep him with dark substrate and high quality lighting.

Haha! Will practically white PFS work! I wanted black sand but I couldn't bring myself to pay for it when I could get PFS for 11 bucks for 50 pounds. I will definitely post some pics of the one I get. Some of them had really long finnage as well. Thanks for the information guys!

if i were you i would buy a few, then you can see how they progress, another thing i have learned in the last 2 days is these guys love tadpoles, haha my fish are fat as hell right now loving frog mating season, you have to catch, and quarantine but man free live food is the best , my gt has gone from being in the background kinda blah to ripping tadpoles out of my hand , turning out to be one of the cool, est fish in my grow out.

hope my pm helped, but i would go for more than 1 , if i could find more i would definitely buy a few more <my lfs suck in the worst way>

Yeah your PM helped a lot. I am going to go ahead and get a couple I think. Im pretty excited I got new trim for the stand that came with my tank and painted the back black yesterday, so It is coming along pretty good. The GT's will look great against the black background I hope!

Haha! Yeah I will get some up. Right now it is just an empty tank, with pool filter sand on the bottom. I just got done boiling some water and cleaning my slate with it. I will be doing some aquascaping and hopefully filling this bad boy up tonight.

Well since they were requested, here is a picture after I got done putting the new oak trim on the stand.

And Here is it after I put the pool filter sand in and painted the background black. I think it amazing how much better it looks black.
