1k is still a great price for a 450g, acrylic. plus oak stand & canopy.
what are the dimensions of the tank, btw. thickness of acrylic?
I paid around $850 just for the movers, when I picked up my 450 and 560g.

The dimensions are 96x36x30. The stand and canopy looked more of a diy type job with oak finish on the front and sides of the stand but I was informed that, "it was a professional done and not a diy build". The only thing that needs to be done to the tank is the seal around one of the overflows. The thickness is 3/4in i believe.

That sounds like a pretty sweet deal. People are wanting that for there "little" 180's around here. But hey, if you did all that complaining and he said he would throw in the lights. THen even better.

Yea, I spoke with him today and he's going to throw the lights in on the deal (doesn't have the ballast for them but no biggie). I'll probably try to pick it up Thursday or Friday.
I'll probably just go ahead and try to re-seal the entire tank. Are acrylic tanks sealed similar to glass tanks where I would just use a razor to scrape away the seal and re-apply. I found this from another thread posted by brianp, "My understanding is also that silicone will not adhere strongly to acrylic. However, if the silicone is merely being deposited to serve as a barrier against leakage and does not have to bear any load or pull, you can use it to form such a simple barrier on acrylic (I have done this). The better method, is to go to TAP Plastic and acquire methylene chloride or other acrylic adhesive and one of those plastic bottles with the needle at the end. The needle is used to deposit the adhesive at the corner or seam, and it then moves between the two surfaces via capillarly action. The adhesive will melt and fuse the two acrylic surfaces. Be careful when applying...might want to practice first."
Well, according to him it leaked around the overflow so I guess in this case it wasn't so permanent. I've read that weld-on 16 should be used on the inside of acrylic tanks. Should I just put a seal of it around both of the overflows or do the entire tank with weld-on 16?unstopablepuffers;2846334; said:
is the leak coming from underneath the bulkhead? may just be the gasket like you said. maybe teflon wear on the threads? or the actual bulkhead?... who knows? may possibly just be an easy fix like that (hopefully?) but won't know for sure until you break it down and actually get in there.
