What To Put In a 8x7x3

Well after some research and posting on various forums I've decided to do natives. Small natives at that such as Cyprinella Shiners, Fundulus species, some of the more colorful sunfish, darters, etc. I know some of the fish such as darters and shiners may be harder to see but one thing that cannot be avoided by me in a pond this size is snorkeling in it so I'll be able to see the fish that way. As far as feeding, the sunfish will do fine on pellets and the smaller fish will feed on insects, larvae, etc.

Still working out a final stock list but I'll post it once I've decided.

That stock sounds just as good as any other one ;)

Still, @Duane: Can't agree with you on not seeing a natural coloured carp. With the way these fish behave, one is bound to see them sunbathing or looking for food etc., not to mention feeding time. I can see my 17" mirror carp 9/10 times I look at my pond :)

Small fish are out. I picked up 3 juvi bullheads that had a death sentence the other day and got a 6.5" white sucker the other night so I guess I'm doing larger natives.

How do you know that the holding wall can hold a pond? From your first picture you're just planning on taking out the bushes and adding water? Those 4x4s look like they've seen better days, and a pond takes more reinforcement then a planter (I've seen plenty of retaining walls collapse due to rain and not enough drainage).

Not saying don't do it, but you said you "found out" just asking what that means.

I had my friend come over and look at it (the LFS owner) and he said it should be pretty good and they normally build retaining walls for ponds since there's so many hills around my area. I can always figure out some way to reinforce it, possibly more and new planks. I'm not just taking out bushes since I need to put in a whole new liner.
