What to put in my 300

I would be cautious keeping festae with geophagus, though in a 300 you just might get away with it. Jexnell is right about conspecific aggression being much greater than allospecific in general. But cichlids often will still see other cichlids as a threat, as opposed to say a silver dollar, which is much more differentiated, as a characin. Festae are also much more aggressive than Oscars in general. The other suggestions of Uaru or Oscar, would work better. I'd add hoplarchus psittacus as well.

50 bleeding hearts, 100 lemon tetra, 50 Columbian tetras a chocolate cichlid and a yellow chalceus with 20 assorted Cory cats and one pim. maculatus.

Plenty of branching wood for the tetras along the edges and one large cave for the pim with scattered stones over sand or small gravel. 3d background
