What to use for tank cover?

what do i use or how do i cover the top of my 55 gallon? i'm planning on getting a bichir and i've heard that they are escape artists

what about the filter? i have two hob filters, will they fit if i got the 48 inch versa top?

The top I bought has a 2" plastic piece to cut spaces for hob, heater etc. Pretty nice units.

This might not work the same for you but I use two sheets of glass I found in a old wall unit some one thru out. My tank has a built in filter and auto feeder so I don't need to open my tank lid unless its for a water change.
