Someone will probably say I'm way off, but I've had no problems with my young senegal bichir and the versa tops with my HOBs. Of course you may get a jumper, but mines pretty laid back, he's the hippy of my tank.
Plex glass. Im going to use it cuz my Ato already broken two glass tops. Plus you can cut it to size or any extra holes on back. This way you dont have that little 2inch area.
