What topwater fish to get?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hatchet fish and I really dont think that you need to worry about the BGK eating them.....

hatchets seem to delicate, and tiny there mouths look like they can barely eat a bloodworm. i would be worried with them and the angelfish.

I've kept Hatchets and angels together in the past.. and they where just fine. they may look delicate but ime silver hatchets once established where quiet fiesty lil' buggers. and Silver hatchets will get to big for the BGK to eat. Marbles tend to be slightly smaller and abit more delicate ime, but hearty as well once settled in.

Out of the ones suggest the ones i know my lfs can gat are african butterfly fish, hatchets, and needle gar.

leaning towards these two: african butterflyfish or school of hatchets.

wich would be the best?

hatchets would have plastic plants to hide in but i am worried they would become a snack for the black ghost knife.

Would the butterfly fish become to aggresive?

Bear in mind butterflys need the top of the aquarium to be perfectly still or they get stressed, they don't like water movement at all. Useless to anyone breaking the water surface to increase 02 in the tank with a big fat Fx5!

silverdollars, archers, etc..
