Back to what I posted earlier, seems like you still want to go through with it so I'll share how I got them into the triple digits effortlessly.
My set up was 50% water changes weekly inside of a 55 gallon with just a aqueon 70 I think. (heater of course)

Found someone giving out free guppies on craigslist and they gave me about 40. I mostly received males so I bought 5-10 females when they were on sale at petsmart/pecto (1 dollar per guppy). Correct ratio is about 1 male to every 3 females.
You just have to give the young hiding places and put a large fine filter on the intake for the filter and they wont get sucked up. I bought a large fake vine plant from Micheals for like 4 bucks and just threw it in there. I had 3-4 births a day with liters upward to 20. They really do reproduce that fast. Once you let the age a bit its a good idea to add new genes into your tank to some what fight off inevitable inbreeding. Within the first month you'll have TONS of fry. They grow up and now you have a farm. Good luck.
