If you keep them together, the catfish will probably be able to eat the aros in a few months.

aros with the exception of the asians and aussies are not particularly aggressive when it comes to tank mates besides other aros.

blacks stay a bit smaller, are rarity effects price. when they are available at small sizes $40-$60 is fair for blacks but years pass between availability. bigger ones around 8-12" command between $175-$300.

silvers are always available and juveniles are cheap $15 or so, adults are free haha

For those of us who actually have seen BOTH at THIS SIZE, we know they are blacks.
Baby silvers do not have the black / yellow lines.
