My tank is a 210, but if the fish got too big for that, I would just eat it.
Oh yeah, 210 is big enough for a Bullhead.....Im used to people wanting to put them in 20-30 gallon tanks!

I guess it is a big one! I didn't really think about that until I read your post. I figure he was around 15-20 inches.

Oh ok. I wasn't sure, but I do want to have a SMB as well and I am going to try and get a male so he won't get as big. If he gets too big, I will eat him too!

I don't want an overstocked tank and I care about my fish as I am an avid fisherman. This would be the first time in my long fishing career that I will keep either a bass or a catfish. Always catch and release!

Make sure your tank temps are campatible for both the Bullhead and the Smallmouth Bass (all our Smallmouth come from cold water creeks or deep in lakes and our Bullheads usually come from warm water rivers ponds and lakes), if they are compatible that sounds like a good combo.

I didn't think of the temperature thing. The smallmouth I am going to get is from a local creek that is actually really warm and bass season here in PA doesn't open up until June 12th, so I can't get any before that. By that time the water is going to be like a bathtub.

It will help if you check the temps of the creek and then try to set the temp in the tank as close to that as you can until they get acclimated .....it will also help if you get the Bullhead and bass from the same waters at about the same size (I know that seems like a lot but believe me it will help).

get a yellow bullhead, they don't get huge and get bright yellow bellies as the grow. I have an 8" in my 55 galllon which is going to be upgraded to a 200g with the next month or two
