What type of chichlid is this?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Could be a caeruleus hybrid but the thing bothering me is the stubby snout. As said I have seen a Cop rhoadesii that was very pale yellowish colour. Agree though, if we could get a better pic or two it would make life a lot easier.:naughty: :woot: :clap :headbang2

Why would you suggest C. rhoadesii??? :screwy:
C. rhoadesii are a silver based fish with obvious black horizontal bands as juveniles. Males turn blue, neither sex obtains the yellow color shown by the fish in question. They also do not show the black edging on the dorsal fin.
The fish is not even Haplochromine.

Now, compare fish pictured with Tropheops sp.

;) Wow, I think this is like a that kids game where you say "You're getting warmer, warmer". Amazingly my first response would have been some Tropheops if the pic would have not been so bad. I've actually had Tropheops "Olive" and Tropheops "Weed" a few years ago. "Left-overs" often get lumped in the bargain "assorted mbuna" shipments that go out of some of the farms down in Florida. I doubt that there will be a 100% positive id of the fish even if Ad, Stuart, Andreas, or Michael were to all look at the specimen. :grinno:
