What type of flowerhorn

Think he means gold based fader but it looks like iis going to be red and pink very good colors. Get a pic of its vent and somebody can actually verify 100% what sex it is. Another way is to see how it interacts with another fish of a known sex but be careful doing that.

I would keep an eye on this one both males and females can look similar from a profile of the anus. I've had a couple of females look like the profile and males only show when spawn but show way more. In fact that little point is what I look for when picking a female parrot out of a tank. Here's a male that shows nothing at all.20150607_215338.jpg

So to vent to pretty much take the fish out and look at the area near the anus for either a u shape or v shape. But since I'm new can somebody give me some steps so i don't harm the fish.

Just net the fish make sure your hands are wet and gentley grab the fish with your hand around the net flip it over and check the vent. To decrease the amount of stress I normally do this with the fish somewhat in the water so it is not completely out of the tank.

Oh I got that I just don't understand how it will become gold when it is pink right now
the Gold flowerhorn are yellow with a lil red sometimes a lot of red.gold flowerhorn are labeled gold base, gold flowerhorn and faders They are the same your fish might not be all red it will be half white and red you will find a lil yellow when it fades all the way
