I recently purchased these geos from a guy who is moving, he had no idea what they are besides geophagus. Any help? I'm thinking G. megasema but I'm not sure. They are 7-9 inches with somewhat striped tails and a lateral dot that is about the same size as their eye if not a little bit bigger than their eye.

Agreed -- G. winemilleri. Four forward-slanting bars, a cheek stripe, and the red-edged caudal fin with horizontal stripes.

The only thing that throws me off is that they have black throats, which is a feature of G. brachybranchus. But usually brachybranchus have 5 or 6 vertical bars when they're visible.
