I wouldn't go through all of this trouble. Get a powerful enough return pump and point the returns in the right places. Get a couple of powerheads and get the waste to overflow....
Took me a very long time to figure out how to get no dead spots. Finally found the right spots for my returns! I have to change filter floss more often but can't complain rather see poop in my sump then in the main tank.
Literally is trial and error for it to be put in the right places. I have 200 gallons to get right so its kind of harder to get it perfect.
