What type of paint to use

You may want to just buy black egg crate / light diffuser. If you add the cost of white egg crate and the paint its probably more than just buying it black. Make sure its plastic.

Very funny. I think all of the possible options have been proposed. Still not sure what the best or trade offs are. I have decided to use limo black window tint on the back of my 240 but I am curious about what paint to use inside the tank. I need to use egg rate to separate the monsters for the big guys initially but don't like white. What kind of paint should I use for the egg crate?

yea i used acrylic paint, it cost me like $5. i had to do 3 coats to get it done but looks amazing afterward. i used a blow dryer to speed up the process. did it within 30 minutes. ( on a 60 gallon)

Krylon Fusion works for in tank use....just make sure you let it cure for at least 24 hrs

Can I change this a little? I just got a 135g with the wood colored framing/rim. I want to paint it. I assume I would use the same paint as you're talking about for the background.
