The pattern on the bottom pic are not very dense or reticulate though, they are not connected.

I would still say fish in pic two (second set of pics) is palmas palmas.

So you would say this is p. pb? (pic is proaquatics510's)

sorry, i just can't obtain fact both fishbase.org and #1 bichir.

why don't you agree the fishbase.org expatiate "bar-stripe" is p.pb and "reticulate-STRIPE" is p.p plams?

sorry,i feel your bihcir is not a palmas palmas ,that is a p. pb too.

The thing is, errors are made even when the ichthyologist expatiates the description of the fish.

For example, Ralf Britz described teugelsi as having 'jet black pectoral fins' yet when you see actual teugelsis, you see that their pectoral fins are not jet black, in fact they're not too different from the various palmas bichirs.

So what would you say the below are?

Cohazard, let me guess:

#2 & #3 P. palmas palmas

SO WHAT DO I HAVE????

:headbang2

According to chnnagain, you have a pattern variation of Polypterus palmas buettikoferi. Others think you have palmas palmas, I'm confused now.

That's how I feel as well CDM, but I think what chnnagain will say is that they are all p. buettikoferi, albeit variations in pattern.
