what type of tank?

i have dealt with pirahna before and find them quite lame.

I don't like them either. Just thought I would throw it out.

I'm going to go ahead and suggest a Malawi/Tanganyika/Victoria set up. Not only are the fishes colorful, but they have personality. You can also get some catfish and some other types of fish.

i was thinking last night, and why couldn't i do discus for looks and appistos for personality? best of both worlds

You could. But unless you get the discus as adults,wait on the apistos. Juvi discus do better at a warmer temp. Adult discus can be in a bit cooler water. Apistos will do better with the adult water temp.

Apistos have looks too.

A single male Argentea.or any of the Amphilophus would look great and do well in there with tons of personality too
