What was/is the largest fish you have?

Im wondering what the largest (length and/or sheer mass) fish you have ever kept. Im talking about true monsters that grow to sizes that wouldnt fit into just any tank.

the bigger the better, just curious to see what you have all kept. Pics would be great

A 23 inch Niger cat, I've seen them up over 5 foot at zoos. Mine was growing over an inch a month.

Yes and no. I took video not still pictures. I can convert some but it will take some time. Also it does degrade some

If you've seen them 5'+ it's not a niger. The largest I have ever seen was around 40" and that's huge since planet catfish has them topping out at 39"

I'd hardly call them "true monsters" but the biggest fish I've owned were my old ornate bichir (longest @ 17"+ when it died a couple years ago), and my old Oscar (sheer mass, 14"+ when it died in April '08).

Well, my LFS sold me a baby Siniperca Chuatsi without knowing it. I thought it was some sort of predator and liked the idea, but once I found out what it really was and how big it would get, I gave it back. I had an Adonis who died of bloat at ten inches. Oscar at 12". Tire track eel jumped at around six inches. Oh, I had a Ryukin pair that were about the size of baseballs.
