What was the wackiest thing you have ever caught?

I hooked a pesky pelican while boat fishing off the coast of ventura county. The deck hands tried to help me land it so it could be freed, but the pelican ended up getting all tangled up in the lines by the time it was in the boat. Took a good five minutes to free him. The pelican was pissed. I would be too.

i hate fishing with large birds my cousin had his seatrout stolen by a stork.

i almost lost a few Seatrout to Pelicans. You were probably using a popping cork? I tried to pop the cork REALLY hard to scare the crap out of the pelican so he would leave.
It worked, but as he left he got hooked. I remember staring at it for a second, stunned, then handing the rod over to the guide.

nope just some squid and the stork was aggressive to the point of trying to fight my cousin for the landed fish.

oh when they drained the lake partially i found some of those buried in the mud with ber still in them.

i cought a snapping turtle the size of a 4 wheeling turtle.. poor thing got jigged in the leg.. i felt bad.. i also cought a coat that had a bunch of lures and flies on it.
