My first fish ever was a red Betta I got at the LFS near a Clarks drug store when I was in the 3rd grade. I heard my cousin say "fighting fish" and I always wanted one after that, even though I had no idea what they looked like. I remember I really loved that fish because it was the first pet that was my own. My fondest memory will be of carrying it in its bowl when we moved houses, I held that sucker tight in a V.W. bus full of furniture! When it finally died I was sad for a while( I was very young) and my mom told me to bury it under the lemon tree in our new yard. The next morning the lemon tree had flowers all over it and my mom told me that it was my fish that made the flowers grow and he was trying to say Hi and to show me that he was alright. I guess that whole story and red betta are what got me into fish keeping in the first place!

My first fish was a Betta that my mom bought me when I was 6. The first fish I ever bought were guppies.
A small RBP that i got with a 10 gal(was told it was silver dollar). sold him a month later when someone told me what it was.
