What was your first fish?

Not a fish but a red belly fire newt, I got him over 8 years ago and he's still alive now! First fish was a male Betta that lived for about 1 year

I am not sure what they where but I think Dad got them at the local fish hatchery. The main part I remember is that we had crawdads and marbles in the bottom of the tank. At night they would pick the marbles up and drop them on the bottom of the glass 10 gallon tank. I also remember having catfish that kept eating the other fish.

I believe it was a pleco and my roommate got a Texas Cichlid(they went in the same tank (20g)).
