What was your first fish?

First fish were head and tail light tetras. My first monster was a ropefish, which I thought would be happy in a 10 gallon until it popped the lid and escaped one night...

My first fish was a goldfish that i won at a fair when i was around 7 by tossing a ping pong ball into one of those little betta bowls with a fish in it. It started out in a fishbowl and then lived out the rest of his life in a 10 gal w/many various tankmates, all of whom he outlived. "Wilbur" lived for like 7 years and grew to around 8"+.

Damn 8" in a 10G and lived for 7yrs? That definitely beats my expectations for a goldfish to survive in a 10G. Good job for your first fish esp since you didn't know what you were doing yet.

Wow, my goldfish lived in a 10G for 1 year, at 2 inches. Very impressive.
