My first fish was guppies. I had a 10 gallon and got some guppies. Then I got addicted and got more tanks, lol.
I had to skip the goldfish bowl, dad didn't want to have to look at them! I started with a 10g community, angels, tiger barbs,platies and neons.
My cuzin gave me his old 2 ft tank when i was 17 and l was wrapped. So i started with 2 koi carp till my brother through them in the dam down the back of our farm (they grew pretty large). Then l stumbled apon CICHLIDS!!!!! l brought a breed pair of kribs they were awsome!!!!!!!!

pleco was a first for me about 15 years ago. i was told it was a low maintnance sucker fish seeing as it was my first and i was only 8 i thought if i could keep it alive i would get more eventually. well needless to say he outgrew his 10gallon tank within the first few months and i had to upgrade tanks, this ment more fish and thats how i got started using every penny of my allowence money for a new tank and fish i was baited and hooked lol
Im 42 now my 1st tank i got when i was 14 i got a 55gallon tank with 2 10" red oscars and a 9" pleco bought them from a neighbor who was moving for 50 dollars complete setup i still have the tank and filters working. the fish lived 2 yrs after i bought them and ive been hooked on large fish since
i Have been keeping goldfish since i was 4 But my First Tropical Fish Was...........................A Pair of Blue Acara they started killing each other in the 200L/50Gal they Lived in that was 3 years ago im 13 Now and have the same tank except its newer it Cracked When i was on Holiday All Fish Survived apart From The Baby Mollys Which i Bred.

i started with my 10 gallon semi aquatic bullfrog tank. we wanted something so we threw in about a dozen zebra danios, a few goldfish, and a guppy. first cichlid was a tiger oscar.
