WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST TANK?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
At first I had a 20 gallon with a lsn, common Plecostomus, 2 angelfish, and an RTC.
Then in February I upgraded to a 120 gallon.ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1354242432.396646.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1354242459.549408.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1354242474.291488.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1354242493.444459.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1354242530.680846.jpg
The lsn, angelfish and a few expensive feeder fish got eaten. Then I gave the RTC to a good friend with a pool for fish. I still have the Plecostomus and a couple others.

My first setup when my youngest boy was 3 years old. That was three years ago. Now we don't watch Spongebob anymore, we switched to Regular Show and Adventure Time. :)

My first was actually a bowl we had when I was a very young kid. I often thought about this bowl if my mom still had it. This past Thanksgiving I was at my moms house looking under the sink of the bathroom I used. And there it was!!! could not believe it she never through it away. So now I have my first goldfish bowl! that is over 50 years old.

Ughh it depends. I had a bowl when I was like 5. The first real tank was a 10g. I remember i bought 3 guppies. 1 fm died and the other came to be known after almost 2 years as Grandma Guppy. I called her grams, she gave birth to thousands of babies. Eventually her back spine started bending around her 3rd birthday and with constant harassment from the males she succumbed. It was a very slow demise though. Took months before she finally died. Started with gasping then came no more swimming, just lurking on the bottom, then came lying on her side and finally only 1 fin would move. I had guppies a ghost shrimp and a dwarf frog. 2 originally, second 1 died within mknutes. One day i bought a baby ebjd for the tank he was maybe an inch. Had him for almost 6 months tank was peaceful. Then i went on vacation and came home to find a cute little ebjd giving me the baby eyes with a big guppy tail coming out of his mouth. Most of the fm guppies survived but no males lived. I had thousands of pics but then I was pickpocketed and lost my phone. That was 4 years ago. I just decommissioned the 10g a few days ago. The ebjd was about 8" when I sold him.

55g 4 rbp. Under gravel filter. My mom's work was going to throw it out, and at the time rbp's were $5 a piece.

My first Aquarium was 5 gallon hexagon, I stocked it with angel fish x2, and I bought it second hand, it was new in the box they wanted 20 for it and it came with everything. I had the aquarium for about 1 year, and my infatuation grew once I had my own space, I bought 1 55, and then 2 55 then 3 55, then 75 gallon I soon found my self with 4 huge aquariums, even one in my closed within a year. Then I met the love of my life, and she said that I am not going to crowd her home with Aquariums, so I had a couple different show aquariums that were 55, and 75. Then I purchased a large NON show aquarium and she hated it, so I got out of the hobby for about 2 years, and now I am working on my dream aquarium which is a 150 gallon metaframe 60's aquarium I don't plan on getting rid of ever

The first tank that got me back into the hobby for the first time since I was a kid was a x-mas present for my stepson. It was a 29g kit that we let an 8yr old decorate and pick out the stock. It had blue and white gravel with the multicolored glass beads, the neon multi-colored rock decorations, odd colored fake plants, and the fish was a mix of the petsmart 5 for $5 sales and was completely overstocked with mollies, guppies, tetras, rasboras, etc. It was a horrible combo and I didn't understand the cycle back then and cleaned it weekly by taking everything out and scrubbing it down in hot water. I can't believe anything was able to survive in there.

My first tank as a approx. 5 year old was a 5gal tank with filter and 2 gold fish. No pics.

Next first tank was years later a 10gal with a mix of community fish my mom would pick out, I was still to young to take care of it - but I wanted fish. Mom got sick of it so she tore it down.

Many moons later I discovered that she kept the tank in the garage. I gladly set it back up - this was in 03' so I started that sucker back up. I kept random community fish and a channel cat (had no idea what I got into with that one at the time). I have a pic with the old 10 gal in one of its forms in the background of a pic and my 15hex which was my second ever tank

I will note that my catfish did end up in a larger tank with someone else.

What still shocks me now is looking through all the pics of fish I used to own. Holy cow have I owned A LOT of fish and quite a variety at that.
