Addikted...can you order from fosters in northern italy?

It would be cool to think that the guys that started out as vets coming to my family farm to personally give our horses shots have now grown into an international pet distributor.

There really CANT be a matenence free setup, but there are things that make it easier.

-Minimal stocking
-Skimmer and sump filtration
-Good h2o flow
-Live macros/refugium filtration

All of the above goes a long way towards making your setup headache free.

Yeah, I order from them all the time.. I ordered from them when I lived in the states and have been ever since.. Everything is about triple the price here so I save alot by going through them and a few others..

OK, have been reading and have a few questions.

Can you have a setup with only rock/coral with power heads and not have to have any other equipment?

Can there be a maintenance free setup?

What is the job of the protein skimmer?

What does a RO unit do?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks all

My 'basic' salt tanks are sand, rock and Aquaclear hang on the back filters.

As stated, there is no maint free system.

Pt skimmers are part of the mechanical filtration. Air injection/aggitation creates surface tension on the bubbles pulling porteins out of the water (so they don't break down into ammoina/nitrite/nitrate).

RO is just a filter. It's a way to pull even the finest particles out of the water supply you use to make up new water after a water change.
