some little red texas huh, i just put my texas and parrot together. the parrot has never laid eggs though, and im not sure which spiecies of texas i have. does anyone have any ideas how to jumpstart the breeding with these two? also the parrots about 4" and the texas is about 6-7" any advice would be much appreciated thanx

IMO the easiest way to get a pair with a female parrot is to pair it with a midas or a red devil of -exactly- the same colour. I have two pairs, a red parrot female and red devil male, and a large orange midas and orange female KKP pair. Both times the fish became friends right off the bat because they are the only two exactly the same colour, and big cichlid males tend to like round females. In both instances the male is a little bigger than the female.
