FAROWELLA worked for me 2 cleaned out my 55g in about 3 days! The back was completely covered and the sides had alot too. They even tried to go up the filter outputs trying to get more. Since i have 2 filters on it i took off the tubes and let them clean those off, they are algea eating machines!!!

your Opinions are much appreciated.

What else isa possible STRONG algae eater?

lol.

that eats up algae quickly.

and to the turning off of the light...

With snails just make sure you have a preditor or get ones that dont infest. You could be selling off one prob for another. Always research like you are doing and try to let every one else learn the hard way!

the cool thing with mystery snails is they lay eggs above the water's surface so you can remove the lumps of eggs if you don't want any more snails..

so far we have one lump of eggs.. i kinda want to see how many snails come from it.. but i probably won't make any more after that.

:grinno: i REFUSE to clean my tank witha sponge/scrub.

only on the flowerhorn tank would i scrub the sides...
:screwy: since everythign else i put in there gets killed.
[i use those magnet scrub things, that sticks to the glass]

-Those are... Chinese Algae Eaters Right? My fishes are too big, and will consume such a small soft thing, within an instant. But your opinion was generated without proper Detail in which i apologize.

MY FISH ARE 2-6 inches. CONSISTING OF DATNOIDES AND BICHIRS.
ALSO 1 ATF. :naughty:

-Honestly, i bought one of those~ A LFS had like 5 of them in, and i was amazed by the look of these algae eaters. Sadly, after 2 days it just died. No signs of bites or wounds. Maybe stressed? dunno, and i never seen another one again after that~

hey if you really want algae gone try using all what i mean is a super clean up crew thats what i use they work great heres my team 2 pleco, assorted snails, singapore shrimp, cory cats and kholi loaches but if you want to go cheaper you could use a smaller clean up crew or just by" dr. fishes" brand algae destroyer.

bristlenose plecos! ask anyone on the plecos forum! but they will also tell you that plecos shouldnt be bought for that reason and if fed properly shouldnt eat it! but they will eat it! and in my experience they eat algae very very well! i put in a couple algae covered slates into the tak with in a day or so one bristlenoe pleco cleaned it all!

just dont use algae killers! very risky ecspecially with copper sulfates in them!

you can use barley straw to prevent algae from growing! there is a fungus that grows and decomposes the barley straw and releases a by-product chemical that prevents the growth of new algae! should not take much more than a week or 2 to start preventing the growth!

Im using a UV clarifier and I have 0 green algae build up. The prochilodus and distochodus eat all the brown.
