What would be a good tank mate for Bichirs ?

As of now in my 90 gallon I have an Ornate , A delhezi , and a senegal I plan on doubling the amount of bichirs. But I also want a fish to swim around as well. Right now I have a livingstonni in there and he is a blast to watch but he is nipping my delhezi. I was thinking an Oscar would be cool but I don't know if he would pick on the bichirs... Anyone got ideas??

Hmmm , That is kind of whats going on with the livingstonni . :irked:
 
theres 2 very easy rules on whats good.....the fish has to be too big for the poly to swallow, yet not aggressive enough to see the poly as a giant worm/snack

many of the sa/ca cichlids should work, however dealing with a cichlid of any sort, theres always some chance of it turning on tankmates and developing an attitude

some catfish species would be ok IMo as well....synodontis, spotted/striped raphael....just be careful with cats, as they may try to eat other fish almost the same size as they are, sometimes even bigger.
 
My bf has 4 Bichirs with an Arowana, a p.bass, 2 plecos, and 2 datnoids. They all seem to get along just fine with no fighting.
 
get some severums
 
Severums I like that idea. Would a green terror nip them ?
Keep in mind guys this is only a 90 gallon but it does have every bell and whistle toy there is for aquariums.

Dats would be sweet! So would P Bass. But I dont think there is a single species of either that could live in a 90 gallon for a year or so....
 
Whoa... That dat will probably live in a 90 for 10 years before you have to move him. Get to about 7" the first year depending on species. 12" will take about 5, IMO.

But a pbass will last you about a year or 2. depending on when you get them. I have 3 monos @ 3". I wouldn't go any smaller then that with my ornate. He just ate a sene the other day. Poor lil cute guy. Stupid me:D.
